Site Selection

To assure long-term viability of Rotary's investment, we've established these criteria for orphanage site selection:

• An orphanage property must be privately owned by an individual, couple, or private charitable entity with documentable title subject to Myanmar laws;
• Each must have an existing, proven tube-well yielding water which is judged reasonably treatable by the doctors of Myanmar Compassion Project or an independent biological laboratory based in Yangon;
• The orphanage must be well managed for the long-term welfare and benefit of resident children who are themselves receiving proper love-nurturance, dietary nourishment, clothing, healthcare, education and moral-preceptorship from orphanage leadership;
• Each must have at least 35 resident children or clearly be on track to admit at least that number, with facilities to properly accommodate all residents and staff.
