This was the first orphanage to have a water system constructed by Rotary, beginning in November 2007. Also a large orphanage on a rather confined plot of land, Tender Love also incorporates its own onsite school, which also draws attendance from the community outside the orphanage. Tender Love must utilize virtually every square inch of available land for its agriculture field, and even raises pigs along a narrow margin of the property. Rotary’s visible water system sitting right in the middle of the Tender Love property has been a great blessing to both the orphanage and its incorporated school.
The water system was provided by the Newport-Irvine Rotary Club, home of Past District 5320 Governor John Brainerd.
"Thank you for building the water tank for us. The children are using it for drinking, washing the food and their clothes and cooking. We also use it for watering the plants."
